Band spotlight
Symphony of Soul
The Symphony of Soul (SOS) is the marching, concert, and pep band — the audible heartbeat of Bulldog Nation, famous for impromptu parades through campus in the fall. Its drumline was named one of Showtime Magazine's top ten among HBCUs, and its book still carries arrangements written by 1990s student Kerry Gilliard. Directors before Wright's 1998 arrival are not documented in the sources checked.
