The Marching Force
The Marching Force is a predominantly female marching band known as "The Beast from the East," "The Smartest Band in the Land," and "The Ivy League of Marching Bands." Auxiliaries: Ebony Fire dancers, Silky flags, Sticky Situation drumline, the Black Diamond management team, Hi-Def media team, and since 2018 the Shimmering Sapphire Elegance majorettes. Signature moments: Obama's 2009 inauguration parade, the Rose Parade 2019 drumline trip, the Rome New Year's Day Parade 2020, and the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut. Note: I could not verify the exact founding year of the band program or who directed between Smart's death in 2004 and Jones's arrival, so those are omitted rather than guessed.
