Why here — the dossier
Every highlight comes from the Yard roster — nothing invented.
Band spotlight
Band founded 1918
The Marching 101 is known for its high 'chair step,' for memorizing all of its music (no sheet music on the field), and for an aggressive, powerful sound built on 12-to-14-hour summer rehearsal days. Signature repertoire includes the Bulldog Fight Song, 'Get Up for the Bulldogs' (off Parliament's 'Up for the Down Stroke'), and the J.B.'s classic 'Pass the Peas.' Historic moments include the 2007 NFL halftime at the Georgia Dome, fan-favorite crowns at the Honda Battle of the Bands in 2011 and 2012, the 2021 combined 9/11 tribute halftime with Clemson's Tiger Band, and the long-running band rivalry with FAMU's Marching 100 and NC A&T's Blue & Gold Marching Machine.
