Why here — the dossier
Every highlight comes from the Yard roster — nothing invented.
Band spotlight
Band founded 2018
One of the newest band programs in HBCU life — a two-year community college with a full marching band is nearly unheard of. Beyond the Marching Jags, the program fields a Concert Band, a Pep Band, and small ensembles, with a Jazz Ensemble in the works. The band plays local parades, high school and college events, and campus showcases alongside the Jazzy Jags and JBelles dance lines. Band Service Awards (audition-required) recognize students with extraordinary musical or academic skill.

Deadlines are not yet published on the Yard for Southern University at Shreveport.
We only post deadlines verified against the school’s own admissions pages — nothing guessed, nothing borrowed. Until then, go straight to the source:
File your FAFSA early — the free federal application lives at studentaid.gov. Filing early keeps every aid option open.
