Band spotlight
Band founded 2026
The Stampede of Sound is the first marching band in Arkansas Baptist College's 140-year history, launched during Homecoming week of September 2026. The college recruited musicians with scholarships (including full rides covering out-of-state fees) and fielded brass, woodwinds, percussion, color guard, and a dance line in its debut season. On September 25, 2026, the band hosted 'Battle in the Rock' at Lamar Porter Field, welcoming LeMoyne-Owen College and Stillman College for its first battle of the bands. The program is tied to new degree tracks — a BA in Music Performance and an AA in Music Business — and recruits under the creed 'Discipline + Focus + Action = SUCCESS.'
