Why here — the dossier
Every highlight comes from the Yard roster — nothing invented.
Band spotlight
Band founded 1998
The Marching Tiger Band of Distinction — BCBOD — was reborn in August 1998 from about 30 members and grew from 61 in its first year to roughly 165, becoming one of the most prominent DII sounds in the Southeast. Students and alumni call it an organism, not an organization, because it never dies. The band peaked nationally in 2021 as ESPN/The Undefeated's No. 1 HBCU Division II band, then marched the 96th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2022 — its biggest stage ever. The dancers are the Sweet Sensation, a halftime fixture since at least 2008, and the program runs its own student media team documenting every show.
