Why here — the dossier
Every highlight comes from the Yard roster — nothing invented.
Band spotlight
The Mighty Marching Thorobreds are one of the largest student organizations on campus with 200+ members, marching with the K-Rettes danceline and the Silk Flag Corps. Their trophy case is real: 2019 'Best Band in the Land' from the national HBCU Awards Committee, No. 1 in ESPN The Undefeated's final 2021 HBCU band rankings, a Monday Night Football halftime show for the Indianapolis Colts (2014), three Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans (2018), and the 2022 Pepsi National Battle of the Bands in Houston before a record 55,000 fans at NRG Stadium. They're Circle City Classic regulars — and the band that storms the yard at homecoming playing the KSU classic 'That Butt.'
