Band spotlight

Platinum Sound Marching Band

For decades Platinum Sound has been the staple of Shaw football Saturdays and the Raleigh community — elite musicianship and showmanship in garnet and white. Earlier directors could not be confirmed from published sources; the founding year is unverified. The band competes at events like the CIAA Battle of the Bands and went viral with young drum major Timmy Richardson, whose halftime dance made him a Shaw Bears legend.
