Why here — the dossier
Every highlight comes from the Yard roster — nothing invented.
Band spotlight
Band founded 2021
Wilberforce is the rare HBCU whose marching band is brand new: the Hounds of Sound are the first official marching band in the school's 165+ year history, formed in 2021. With no football team, they march at home basketball games, parades, and guest performances — the band is the school's loudest ambassador. They marched the Mardi Gras parade and the Cincinnati Reds' Opening Day Parade (2023), appeared in GloRilla's 'MARCH' video (2025), and hold an annual High School Band Day. Goodwine also runs the concert band, jazz band, winter drumline, percussion ensemble, and the university recording studio.
