Band founded 1892
FAMU's band didn't just get famous — it wrote the playbook. Foster built the high-step, high-energy Black college show-band style from scratch, and the Hundred turned it into a brand that sells out everything from Honda Battle of the Bands to Paris runways. The name stayed long after the band outgrew it — the Hundred actually marches closer to 400 members now. It is the single most recognizable thing about the school, and everything at FAMU runs on its schedule: the fifth quarter after games is a full second show, and fans who leave at the final whistle are the ones who don't know.
